PROFILE

Ronald Abdala was born in London on March 24th 1979, to Lebanese parents. After attending schools in London, Lagos, Paris, and Beirut, he moved to Los Angeles in 1996 where he enrolled in a fashion design program at the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing.

In 1998 he moved back to Beirut where he started a degree in Graphic Design, but shortly thereafter enrolled in the newly-established ESMOD-Beirut to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design. In 2002 he graduated at the top of his class and then attended Central Saint Martins in London to complete a two-year program, which included fashion marketing, and experimental fashion with David Kappo.

In 2004 he returned to Beirut where he joined one of Beirut's most successful couture houses: "Maison Rabih Kayrouz" as senior fashion designer. In the summer of 2007, he launched his Label "RonaldAbdala", and has had a notable success in the Lebanese market.

At 28, he has just launched his first Ready-to-Wear collection named X-Ray. Taking inspiration from the human body, and particularly the skeleton, Abdala’s hope was to glamorize the skeleton and make it appealing rather than the general sinister association.

Integral to Ronald’s style is the juxtaposition of avant-garde cuts and detailing, with conservative feminine lines. His designs are characterized by a strong contrast of elements: delicacy and strength, and fluidity and severity.

In addition to his work in fashion, Ronald is a remarkable draughtsman, a graphic artist, and has a wide array of advanced skills in the arts.
